The great exhale

Posted by on February 11, 2009

I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed, but it seems like the Internet has gotten quieter recently. There's more activity on sites like Facebook and Twitter and many other established websites continue to grow and publish, but the smaller bloggers seem to be letting out a long, deep breath. I wonder if they're asking themselves whether it's worth it?

My blogging has slowed down a bit but mostly because my learning has slowed down. I continue to work of course, but mostly creating things with skills I already have. The economy dictates I focus my energies on cash generation and, let's face it, blogging doesn't bring in much cash for most of us.

I was just on polishlinux.org and noticed there hadn't been a post since December. OSNews also seems to have slowed down a bit compared to where it was when Eugenia was running it. What's going on blogosphere? You all spending your time on Digg & Reddit?
